I have come to the realisation that I buy things on impulse. A lot. Especially with beauty products. 'Icon' is a prime example of this. I had heard of Hourglass and the amazing lasting power of their products. This appealed to me as, at the time, I had to look immaculate at all times and really wanted minimal top-ups. I don't know where I heard of 'Icon'. I think it was through the Liberty website where the Pixiwoo girls had recommended it in the Opaque Rouge version. If it's good enough for Pixiwoo it must be good, right?
I do not know what possessed me to buy it without trying but I really wish I had as I don't think it is the right shade for me. I thought it would be a tad deeper but I found it a little too pink for my liking. This would probably work better for somebody with darker skin than mine.
Colour aside I really like the lipstick. It gives really good coverage and is quite nourishing. Longevity-wise it doesn't last as long as I thought it was but I had unreal expectations after using their primer (review to come very shortly). The shape of the lipstick took some getting used to for me as it's very square and flat but once I'd got the hang of it I liked it to get in the corners.
Here's my first shameless selfie of 2014. I have decided to take a few more pics of myself this year as I want to review a lot more products for y'all and reckon I am going to have to put my shame to one side to give you the best look at everything. Time to work on my facial expressions. ANTM stylee!
