Candy girl, you are my world
You look so sweet, you're my special treat
Candy girl, all I want to say
When you're with me you brighten up my day
Candy Girl - New Edition
One of my favourite trends for SS12 is the candy coloured pastels seen at the likes of Louis Vuitton, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Givenchy and Versus to name but a few. Sorbet shades stood out across the board making it the strongest pallette for spring/summer. Sickly sweet pastels are now flooding the high street and I am loving it.
I used to wear a lot of black and, to an extent, still do but having to wear it all day for work has made me start to inject some more colour into my wardrobe. I love the idea of some ice-cream coloured jeans but they, unfortunately, make my arse look huge. For now I am doing what I always do and updating my existing wardrobe by changing my nail varnish.
Portobello Road, Nails Inc; Mint Green, Barry M; Bright Pink, Barry M; Peach Melba, Barry M; Parma Violet, Topshop
The Nails Inc. colour applies like a dream. If I had been more careful it would have given great coverage in just one coat. The Topshop polish on the other hand took three coats to cover my nail and still had patches. I won't rave about the Barry M colours too much - you know they're my fave!
WISH my leg's looked like this in skinny jeans but alas, I am not six feet tall and a size 6. My little stumpies don't look too great in skinny jeans but I wear them all the same. And despite needing a 'wide load' bumper sticker, I will be trying some pastel jeans - hey, you only live once.
Being that I am currently living out of a suitcase, my paints, inks, pencils etc are all tucked away somewhere that I can't remember hence why the above sketch was coloured in with nail varnish. I don't recommend this technique, the fumes were overwhelming!
Loved the Louis Vuitton show and subsequent ad campaign; I can't wait to make myself sick on ice cream this summer (not sure this is the exact emotion LV are trying to evoke). Bring on the sunshine!
